CDS Finalist in National Nutrition Awards
Community Dental Services' (CDS's) Selina Shah has been shortlisted for the Complete Nutrition (CN) Magazine Award for Paediatric Nutrition Professional of the Year.
The CN Magazine is awarding a paediatric nutrition professional who has gone above and beyond what is expected of them in their day-to-day role. This could include: taking on additional duties, running a specific project/research or charitable work.
Selina was shortlisted as she is not only dedicated to supporting young children and their families in achieving positive nutrition and wellbeing, but also is unique in being employed by a community dental service.
Alison Reid, CDS's Chief Executive, said
"We are extremely proud for Selina to be recognised nationally for her clinical excellence. Selina is quality driven; demonstrating a flair in producing resources which includes a booklet called "Food Based Activities for children", with ideas and suggestions encouraging a more positive relationship between young children and food.
One of her many attributes and skills are in developing and delivering a healthy lifestyle programme for young children at Children's Centres. Selina is committed to reducing inequalities for vulnerable children; introducing a successful referral service which can fast-track families to other health professionals or offer an early intervention approach for concerned parents, reassuring and suggesting practical options for their children."
The award is voted for through the CN website http://nutrition2me.com/cn-awards/cn-awards-2015-voting-form with voting closing at midnight on 27 July 2015 and winners being informed shortly afterwards
