Dementia Adventure launches even more supported holidays for people with dementia in 2017
Dementia Adventure was happy to announce the launch of its supported holiday programme for 2017 last week. People living with dementia can often feel that holidays, travel and outdoor activity are no longer available to them. Dementia Adventure specialises in creating and delivering small group short breaks and holidays for people living with dementia, their partners, family, friends or carer to enjoy together.
There's something to suit everyone - 24 holidays across 13 different locations - to popular holiday destinations such as Devon, Isle of Wight, Cornwall, Kielder Water - as well as 5 brand new destinations - a sailing holiday along the South Coast, glamping in Suffolk, the Norfolk Broads and even whale watching in North Yorkshire.
As ever, all the holidays are fully supported. All travel, tickets, accommodation and itinerary are arranged on the client's behalf and each couple on the holiday is supported by a trained member of the Dementia Adventure team throughout the break - an extra pair of hands for the person with dementia and their carer to help with as little or as much as they require. These holidays are further made possible by players of the People's Postcode Lottery, who underwrite the cost of the holidays, ultimately enabling more people access to the outdoors.
