CSR & Buying Social
Organised by Your Own Place CIC
As part of the national #SocialSaturday celebrations Thursday 11th October 2018 at 5.30pm
This promises to be a fascinating event and sure to give you food for thought!
How many of us know exactly what benefit there is in getting involved with local good causes? Do we follow up with them or request impact reports about how donations are spent?
With profit margins tight and suspicions around the governance and diligence of some charities under scrutiny, is it time to think about other ways of getting involved?
With two experts in the room, this promises to be an informed evening in the company of local and regional businesses.
We will hear from Dr Andy Wood, CEO of Adnams. Andy is a Professor of Corporate Leadership at the UEA and lectures in Corporate Social Responsibility.
We will also hear from Jeremy Willis, Director of Procurement PwC. PwC have in recent years signed up to the Corporate Challenge of bringing social enterprises into their supply chain to maximise their spend through added social value.
Refreshments will be provided by No8 Thorpe Road at the end of the talks, around 7pm. We invite you to network with around 50 other businesses until 7.30pm
