Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

Social Enterprise East of England (SEEE) is a membership organisation and we provide information to a wider range of stakeholder organisations in order to raise awareness of social enterprise issues. We therefore communicate with a wide range of people on a regular basis. Your privacy is important to SEEE. This privacy statement provides information about the personal information that we collect, and the ways in which we use it.

How we use your personal data

We will ask for your personal information when you become a member of SEEE through Social Enterprise UK or when you attend one of our events. You will be asked if you agree to receiving updates from us by opting in. Once you choose to provide us with personal information you can be assured that it will only be used to support your relationship with SEEE. The personal information that we will hold is your name and your email address. We will also hold your organisation name. SEEE may use your personal information to provide you with information relating to our programmes, resources, events or services relating to social enterprise development that are managed or provided by SEEE, or a partnership in which SEEE is involved.

Passing on your information

SEEE will only disclose your personal information to its agents or sub-contractors for these purposes, the agent or sub-contractor in question will be obligated to use that personal information in accordance with the terms of this privacy statement. SEEE will not sell, rent or lease your personally identifiable information to others. We may disclose your personal information to the extent that it is required to do so by law, in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings, and in order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights. If you decide you do not want to receive any further emails from SEEE we will remove you from the mailing list. At any point you can request to unsubscribe from the mailing or remove all your data from the database.

Securing your data

SEEE will take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. SEEE will store all the personal information you provide on secure sites.
